Army Inspector General visits Tabak Division

CAMP SANG-AN, ZDS—Today, the 1st Infantry Division welcomes Brig. Gen. Roy M. Galido, the Inspector General, Philippine Army, through arrival honors at the Division grandstand.

He was received by the Division Inspector General Col. Billy O. Dela Rosa.

Galido expressed his gratitude to the 1ID Commander, Maj. Gen. Gene M. Ponio, and the Tabak troopers for the warm reception to him and the Inspecting Team from the Headquarters Philippine Army, who arrived last October 11 for the Annual General Inspection (AGI).

Both the 1ID Commander and the Division Chief of Staff narrated their experiences with the honoree during their cadet years at the Philippine Military Academy. They have all praises for the honoree who is a member of PMA “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990.

In return, the honoree also reminisced the happy memories he had before entering the academy, where he met the Tabak Commander through his late brother, a member of PMA Class 88.

Galido also conveyed the message of the Commanding General, Philippine Army, Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino, to the officers and men of Tabak to never forget the reason why they are in the military service.

“It’s really nice to reminisce why we entered the service. Hindi dapat mawawala yung passion natin, kasi sometimes ito ang nagiging trigger, ‘pag nawala na yung passion…this is where discipline fails,” said Galido.

He further mentioned that once discipline fails within the soldiers, it will impact the organization.

The AGI is conducted to check if resources are correctly handled, identify areas to be improved and systems that need to be corrected or eradicated.

The AGI is set to finish on October 23.
