Tabak Division was Conferred with Institutionalized Stage in Army Governance Pathway

The 1st Infantry TABAK Division was conferred with the Institutionalized Stage in the Army Governance Pathway during its 85th Founding Anniversary held here Saturday.

Headquarters Philippine Army also awarded the Gold Trailblazer Award to the First Infantry (Tabak) Division after it was given a 95.7% rating during the revalida presented by MGEN GENE PONIO to the members of the HPA Board.

Lt. Gen. Jose Faustino Jr., Commanding General, Philippine Army, who was represented by Robert Dauz, Vice Commander, PA, the guest of honor and speaker, in his message congratulated the command for its significant achievement which could primarily be attributed to the outstanding leadership from the Division down to the Battalion and Company level.

“The Tabak Division’s many accomplishments throughout the years also stand testament to the unit’s exemplary adaptive quality and strong commitment to duty as shown by its rich and colorful history”, said LtGen Faustino.

LtGen Faustino is also a proud member of the First Infantry (Tabak) Division family. He was assigned as a Battalion Commander in Lanao del Norte and later in Sulu. He also spent his Brigade Commander billet as Brigade Commander of 501st Infantry Brigade that was placed under the operational control of the First Infantry Division also in the province of Sulu.

In the same event, the Division also recognize the Best Units, Best Senior and Junior Officers, Best Enlisted Personnel, Best Civilian Human Resource, Best CAFGU Active Auxiliary.

The Division also recognized the contributions of the civilian partners especially the local chief executives. The Division awarded the Gawad sa Kaunlaran Medal and a Plaque of Recognition for the Governors of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Sur, and the Mayor of Butig, Lanao del Sur.

Congresswoman Divina Grace Yu was also awarded a Military Achievement Medal being an active reservist officer with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

The Local Chief Executives were commended for their invaluable contributions as Chairmen of the Provincial Task Force in Ending the Local Communist Armed Conflict that implemented peace and development projects in cleared barangays.

Headquarters also conferred units who have satisfactorily passed the requirements for compliant and proficient stage in its Army Governance Pathway.

Maj Gen Gene M Ponio, Commander 1ID, in his message expressed his gratitude to the units who have contributed to a accomplishments for the past year.

“Though confronted by many challenges, we have emerged victorious, successful and resolute. We have relentlessly pursued the accomplishment of our mandate of protecting and serving the people of Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao provinces amidst the certainties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic”, said Maj Gen Ponio.
