Imelda, ZSP – 44th Infantry (Agile N’ Stable) Battalion troopers partner and collaborate with the Local Government Unit of Naga under Hon Rino O Delos Reyes, Municipal Mayor during the conduct of its Municipal Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) with the theme: “Taking the challenge of Hope, Peace, Unity, Youth Empowerment and Resiliency in times of New Normal” to the total of ninety-four (94) Muslim, Christian and Subanen youths of its twenty-one (21) barangays on 05-07 April 2021 held at Baluno Patrol Base, Barangay Baluno, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.
Mayor Delos Reyes aims to empower the youths by developing programs sponsored by the congressional, provincial and municipal level through official registration of their youth organization at Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). With that, the Local Government Unit of Naga can assist and endorse for the approval of fund allocation intended to aid the livelihood programs for the youth.
Moreover, this YLS activity aims to prevent violent extremism and communist insurgency, fight against current issues faced by our nation, to empower the tri-youths to become future leaders and promote character-based leadership skills, uplift their awareness on the roles of the youth in nation building, inculcate the virtues of patriotism and nationalism.
Also, this activity intends to educate and provide clear and actionable guidance for safety precautions through the prevention of the pandemic (COVID-19) in the times of new normal.44IB vows to take part in molding the youths to be advocates of peace and development for the province of Zamboanga Sibugay. According to the US President Franklin D Roosevelt, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
