64IB JOINS LISSIN TUMAHUBONG 2021 IN BASILAN

TUMAHUBONG, Sumisip Basilan- Men and Women of 64th Infantry Battalion join in the “LISSIN TUMAHUBONG 2021” here, yesterday, April 04, 2021. “LISSIN TUMAHUBONG 2021” is one of the highlight activities of the 52nd year patronal fiesta of St Vincent Ferrer Parish Church of Tumahubong.

It is a year-round activity that aims in promoting self-awareness towards protection and sustainability of friendly and conducive environment.

The project successfully kicked-off this afternoon in a simple program held at the covered court of Tumahubong, SBP. It was graced by the barangay chairman of Tumahubong, Hon Rujin H. Mubin, 64IB’s Commanding Officer, LTC RENANTE D BESA INF (GSC) PA represented by 1LT LARRY M OPIDO JR (INF) PA, the battalion Civil Military Operations Officer, Rev. Fr. Arvin B Bellen, CMF, Parish Priest of St Vincent Ferrer Parish Church.

The kicked-off ceremony was highlighted by a clean-up drive at the Tumahubong Airstrip. It was participated by the troops of 64IB, students of Tumahubong National High School, Claret School of Tumahubong and Tumahubong Central Elementary School, TARBIDC officials and beneficiaries, members of the Zeta Phi Omega, and constituents of Tumahubong, SBP. LTC BESA thru 1LT OPIDO JR expressed his appreciation for inviting them and be part of the purposive undertaking.

He also thanked the people who took the initiative to launch this program as it is anchored to one of the 64IB’s Flagship Project: “Clean and Green towards Sustainable Peace and Security”.

“Pangalagaan natin ang mahal nating Brgy Tumahubong. Kung ano man ang reputasyon ng Tumahubong, reputasyon din natin ito. Hindi iba ang Barangay sa ating pagkatao. Kung ano ang dumi ng Tumahubong, dumi din natin ito. Kaya bilang mga nagmamahal sa Tumahubong pangalagaan natin ito at tayong lahat ay magtutulongan.”-Rev. Fr Bellen said.
