Dapitan City | The 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division held its 25th Multi-Sectoral Governance Council Meeting in Dakak, Dapitan City Tuesday.
The meeting was presided by Engineer Rolando A Soliva, who represented Atty Florendo B Opay, the incumbent MSGC Chairman during the meeting. The 25th MSGC Meeting discussed the 1ID Scorecard Updates and Accomplishments for CY 2020, the Command’s Support to Inter Agency Task Force Covid Shield, and the Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) Accomplishments.
Col Norberto Agbay, the Chief GSMO, also presented the efforts of 1ID under the leadership of Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and implement the established social distancing protocols without affecting the Operational Tempo in addressing the threats in our area as dictated by the Division’s Campaign Plan.
The projects include the following: 1) cleanliness drive and the construction of a garbage dump site inside camp, 2) personnel were required to engaged in backyard vegetable gardening, 3) implement the individual physical fitness program in lieu of the regular reveille/tae bo, and 4) enhancement of water system through the location/discovery of additional water source and the repair/operationalization of existing water tanks were aggressively conducted.
“All these projects were envisioned to make the Tabak personnel self-sufficient during the pandemic. As much as possible we don’t want to be a burden to our partners from the local government.” Maj. Gen. Ponio stressed.
During the meeting, vacant positions of the MSGC and its committees were also filled-up as determined by the qualifications and field of expertise of the designated members.
ENGR. ROLANDO A SOLIVA is now the vice chairman of MSGC; HON. SAM TYRA F. CO, Vice Chaired the Governance Committee; MS. N0EMI B. EDAGA, Vice Chaired the Resource Generation Committee and she also became the Chairman of the Public Relation Committee.
Maj Gen Gene Ponio in his closing message, thanked the MSGC members for continuously participating and supporting the activities of the Command. He encouraged them to support the Tabak Division’s efforts as it gun for the Institutionalized Stage under the Army Governance Pathway.
He further stressed that despite the pandemic, the Command has successfully accomplished its mission and even surpassed the targets set for CY 2020 as indicated in the Division Scorecard.
