FRs (Friends Rescued) to Undergo Comprehensive Agriculture Training with 53IB’s Project Good Life

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion held the second round of classes of Project Good Life for FRs (Friends Rescued) with the Department of Agriculture Regional Office IX in Halfway House Covered Court, at Headquarters 53IB, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on March 26, 2021.

Anchored on the theme: “Threading The Path To Authentic Happiness,” the class session discussed “GoodLife 110: Agriculture and Vegetable Farming” with Department of Agriculture IX Mr. Edellarie T Jouela Marketing Specialist/Technical Staff and Mr. Ryan John M Corbo Agricultural Technician as speaker.

Headed by RED Rad Donn Cedeño, Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture IX The FRs’ class discussions included Organic Vegetable Farming, Proper Treatment for Pest and Vegetable Diseases, and other agricultural preparations.

“We know how hard and difficult our lives were in the mountains. For many years, we went through different struggles. We were scared, hungry, and deceived of the wrong ideology. Now we are very much thankful because the Government and Philippine Army are taking care of us,” Amihan said.

“Agriculture is important because it sustains our lives. The knowledge and skills on agriculture will be helpful for our FRs in rebuilding their lives with the government’s care,” said JC Robledo, Youth Volunteer Facilitator.

‘’Thank you for your participation, and thank you also to our facilitators from the Department of Agriculture. We know that these all happened with guidance and accordance with God’s plan. Everyone is here for a purpose,’’ Pfc, Elladora said.
