The Western Mindanao State University – Peace and Humans Security Institute (WMSU-PHSI) in partnership with the International alert together with Joint Task Force Basilan and other stakeholders conducted Multi-stakeholders Partnership Meeting on Monday, March 29, 2021 in order to validate the data concerning peace and order situation in the area.
The activity highlighted Conflict Alert Findings from year 2011 to 2020 as a result of research study conducted by WMSU-PHSI and International Alert based from the reports provided by media and members of their panel representatives.
International Alert is an independent peacebuilding organizations focusing on eradicating social exclusion and community-level conflict through research and analysis, advocacy, multi-stakeholder processes, and capacity building.
“We must sustain this multi-stakeholder partner meeting to push our momentum in collecting developmental strategies to forge peace, security and sustainable development in Basilan and stop the preconceived notion of international community and media which puts our province in the bad light of international scrutiny. “, BGEN Domingo B Gobway said during his speech.
“Let us work together to multiply our gains in making economical progress and totally end terrorism in the province of Basilan”, BGEN Gobway added.
