Tabak Troopers Initiate Youth Team Building in Basilan

Tumahubong, Sumisip, Basilan — Students of BCLP enjoyed their Team Building activity at an island beach here on March 21-22, 2021.

Twenty Eight students of Basic Computer Literacy Training-Batch 4 were given the opportunity for a 2-day Team Building activity held at Tenuse Island, Sumisip, Basilan Province in partnership with this battalion, LGU-Sumisip thru Council of Sumisip Youth Leaders headed by Ms Yarah Musa and Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE-Basilan) and TESDA-Basilan headed by Ms Muida Hataman, Provincial Director.

This activity caters physical and mental games that strengthen their camaraderie as youths of Sumisip that plays vital role of making change and unity in the community.

It also enables them to create and set individual goals that will help them to be responsible citizens of Basilan. This batch is composed of students, members of civil society organization, and out-of-school youths of Barangay Mangal, SBP who took the opportunity to learn basic computer skills.

“Take the opportunity given by the Basic Computer Literacy Program to grow and learn — as it is a manifestation of trust of the 64th IB and its partners LGU Sumisip, TESDA and Council of Sumisip Youth Leaders. In this era full of technology, always crave for knowledge, and think of applying it not only for yourself, but also for others and for the community.”- Ms Yarah said.

Meanwhile, facilitators from this battalion and Sumisip Youth Leaders who also enjoyed the activity had the chance to enhance their working relationship with the youth sector.

“We are here to help, not only for peace and security concern but for the youths who could use the skills and trainings they acquired from this program in the future as they seek for employment”., – LTC BESA, 64IB’s Commanding Officer said.
