Army’s 1ID units, awardees for Campaign Streamer

CAMP SANG-AN, ZDS – Army’s 1st Infantry Division operationally-controlled, organic and other support units were awarded with Campaign Streamer Award by the Western Mindanao Command here Friday, February 26,2021.

Accordingly, the said award is bestowed to recognize a particular achievements or events of a military unit or service.

Based on its accomplishments, the 1st Infantry Division sustained focused military operations (FMOs) along with the coordination of Local Government Units (LGUs) and stakeholders coupled with the implementation of NTF-ELCAC Projects and programs, led to series of surrenders of regular members and supporters throughout the year 2020.

Awardees for dismantling Guerilla Front, Feliciano A, WMRPC were the 44th Infantry Battalion; 97th Infantry Battalion, 1st Military Intelligence Battalion; 1st Intelligence and Security Unit; 1st Field Artillery Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment; 42nd Infantry Battalion; 1st Civil Military Operations Battalion; 10th Military Intelligence Group; 14th Air Intelligence Battalion; 1st Cavalry Battalion, Armor Division; 4th K9 Company, 1st Signal Battalion, Army Signal Regiment; 1st Forward Support Medical Company, Service Support Battalion; 9th Forward Service Support Unit; Tactical Operations Group-9, Philippine Air Force.

The same awards were also given for Dismantling Communist Terrorist Group, HQ, KALAW (WMRPC); and Regional Urban Committee (RUC) – Regional Operational Command (ROC),WMRPC to 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army or the Joint Task Force Zampelan; 102nd Infantry (IGSOON) Brigade; 53rd Infantry Battalion, 97th Infantry Battalion and 1st Civil Military Operations Battalion.

Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr, PA, Commander of Western Mindanao Command, in his message, expressed his deepest appreciation and his utmost support through the accomplishments of the units in the 1st Infantry “Tabak”Division/ Joint Task Force Zampelan.

“Team Tabak! Congratulations for a job well done. Thank you for your untiring dedication and invaluable contribution of the accomplishment of the Wesmincom mission.” Lt. Gen. Vinluan said.

“I would enjoin everyone to continue working as a team and nurture the advocacy of our campaign.” He added.

Maj. Gen. Gene Ponio, Commander 1ID/JTF Zampelan, also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the units involved for the significant feat.

“We are honored for this award and we owe this to the stakeholders and peace-loving constituents of Western Mindanao region”, he added.
